Hi, I’m Jing
I studied Early Childhood Education and Development in Bow Valley College.
I finished 20 courses and have the diploma right now. I also have the level 3
certificate, the highest level in the Early Childhood Education and Development in
Alberta. I have worked in childcare for over 4 years and opened my day home 2 years ago. Before this, I taught English for 10 years.
More about my day home
I love working with children. I want to share what I learned with children and
support their physical, cognitive, social emotional, and language development.
I also involved the Montessori approach in my daily Programming.
Our daily activities:
Learning: Every month, we have a theme to know about the related
information. We also learn the preschool knowledge such as colors, shapes,
numbers, months, and other useful words…….
Music (songs and dancing): listening, moving, playing, and singing.
Art and Craft: painting, cutting, folding, drawing, coloring, designing, sticking,
counting……
Stories: listening, language, literacy, and communication.
Circle time: Sharing the ideas and stories. Topic talking such as the weather,
our favorite colors, food, fruits, animals……
Outdoor play: They can learn four seasons directly. Outdoor play has many
benefits to children’s social, emotional,physical, spiritual and cognitive
development.
Creation and imagination hours: Offering loose parts, different open-ended
materials to the kids. They can make whatever they want.
Free play: Children make their own decisions what to play and whom to play
with. They can make friends, have a communication,have physical development,
critical thinking……
Field trip: We go to our community park in spring, summer and fall. Kids have
more space, facilities to access to.
