At ECC, we believe that early childhood experiences shape a child’s well-being and development. Our agency operates under the oversight of Alberta’s Ministry of Children’s Services and ensures high-quality, licensed child care.

Our Agency’s Commitment:

Recruiting, approving, and contracting with Day Home Educators who meet Ministry standards.

Providing training and continuous support to Educators.

Monitoring Educator programs for compliance with safety and care standards.

Investigating complaints and implementing necessary actions to address concerns.

ECC is here to support you and your family. We are dedicated to place every child in a family day home in accordance with the child’s and the family’s needs. We cannot do this without the family’s assistance. Therefore, we highly appreciate it if you can:

  • Before your in-person interview, confirm that the information taken during the initial online registration and phone contact is accurate, especially focusing on the hours of care required and your family’s specific
    needs.
  • Contact educators suggested for emergency backup educator, as this will be especially beneficial if you ever need alternate care. We strongly recommend that you find an alternate educator at the beginning of the placement.
  • After the Interview, both the educator and parent inform ECC as soon as you make their choice, as spaces may fill up quickly. Registration Process
  • The Office Staff will forward you our secure Procare server information. Complete the registration form with as much information as possible on Procare.
  • Visit the educator with your child prior to the actual placement date. A transitional period can be essential to ensure comfort and confidence levels for children, families and educators.
  • During these visits, discuss your child’s habits, allergies, favourite toys, etc. with your educator of choice. We encourage you to ask any pertinent questions you may have or raise any concerns to be addressed,
    especially prior to the actual placement.
  • Your educator is prohibited from implementing any form of physical or verbal punishment – please do not
    ask him/her to do so. Unacceptable punishment includes, but is not limited to, sending a child for a time out, yelling, slapping, shaking, and spanking, ridiculing, confinement or threatening.
  • Meet with your educator regularly to discuss your child’s progress and any highlights together.
